Beaumont-Wilshire 1924 Bathrooms

Nestled within the charming Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood of Northwest Portland, this 1924 home captures the essence of both history and modern elegance. Situated on a spacious corner lot, this residence not only boasts historical significance but also reflects tasteful contemporary upgrades that enhance its allure.

Pratt + Larson tile adds additional impact to the Tudor arch framing in the tub. A storybook window looks out into the lush greenery of the Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood.

The tile liner wraps around the bathroom, reflecting the pale mint green seen in the custom floor mosaic. The inset medicine cabinet is custom.

A hand shower was installed in addition to the shower head to make cleaning a breeze.

A custom floor mosaic was created using traditional porcelain hex mosaics.

The former remodel of the primary bathroom was outdated and lacked storage. A custom shower and vanity cabinet were designed to utilize the space as efficiently as possible while staying true to the character of the home.

Custom cabinetry and medicine cabinets provide plenty of storage while offering more mirror space.

Sconces mounted at eye-height provide a more flattering light than if they were mounted above the medicine cabinet.

This custom shower was designed to best utilize the space. A rain shower, wall-mounted shower head, and hand shower provide a spa-like experience.

Custom sized niches perfectly accommodate shower products while hiding them from view.

The kids’ and primary bathrooms were renovated with the intention of artfully blending the home's original character with modern comforts. A highlight of these updates is the bespoke tile mosaic floor, with intricate patterns that demonstrate a sense of craftsmanship and artistry. The choice of unlacquered brass fittings adds a touch of vintage charm, and will gently patina over time. Custom cabinetry, crafted with precision, provides not only functionality but also a seamless integration with the home's historic architecture. Each piece complements the overall narrative of the home's evolution. The lighting - carefully selected to accentuate the beauty of the space while remaining historically relevant - casts a warm glow that invites relaxation and contemplation.

Beyond the aesthetic appeal, this renovation speaks to a thoughtful approach to preservation and enhancement.
