Chelly Wentworth

Principal Designer

After a successful career in high tech, Chelly made the life-altering decision to pursue her passion of design, fine art, art history, and architecture while standing on the steps of the Laurentian Library in Florence, Italy. She then earned a second degree in Interior Design (her first degree was in Clinical Psychology), and spent the next 14 years working for three of Portland’s top design-build firms as a Design Consultant and Senior Designer.

Whereas many designers go directly into the design aspect in their careers, only focusing on part of the equation, Chelly spent this time cultivating her relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers, while also delivering successful projects from concept to completion and navigating clients through the design and construction processes from start to finish.

Chelly knew she wanted to offer clients more choices and individualized options than a design-build firm can offer, so in January 2017, she decided it was time to start her own studio. Whether clients have already chosen their contractor or would like help selecting one, Chelly wanted to offer the knowledge and experience to guide them through the entire process, as an advocate for them, while over-seeing the design intent of the project.

Chelly studied fine art and art history in college and holds degrees in both Clinical Psychology and Interior Design. She is a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer (CMKBD) through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and holds a certification in Aging in Place. She also served on the Board of the NKBA’s Columbia River Chapter as VP of Professional Development for several years.

When she’s not busy combining her three passions – home renovation, cooking, and entertaining – you can find Chelly spending quality time with her family and friends, playing with her dog Bear, or planning her next adventure with her husband Phil.

As a residential remodel company, we’ve collaborated with many designers over the years and C Change Design is hands down our favorite! They bring a wealth of technical knowledge and aesthetic taste to each project, resulting in design projects that truly fit the homeowners’ needs. The combination of expertise, personality, and customer service make them an ideal intermediary between homeowners and tradespeople. As builders, we especially appreciate the awareness of realistic budgeting and construction feasibility.

Ali Mastain

Designer

Ali has always had a passion for art and design. After getting her BA in Art History and her Masters from Christie’s Art, Style, and Design program in London, she found herself working as a retail buyer and planner. It was at that point that she realized that she had strayed further than she’d ever imagined from the arts, and decided to go back to school for interior design. She graduated with her Certificate from the New York School of Interior Design in 2020 and has worked in various roles in the design industry ever since.

Ali loves collaborating with clients to create beautiful, functional, and personal designs. There is nothing more satisfying to her than helping a client realize their vision and find the perfect layout, accessories, and materials for their project. Ali is committed to assisting and supporting her clients throughout the remodeling process – from the initial design consultation until the final walkthrough!

Dedicated to furthering her expertise, Ali is actively working toward earning her Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer (CKBD) certification through the NKBA. As she completes the necessary coursework and project requirements, she continues to refine her technical knowledge and design skills to better serve her clients.

When Ali’s not hard at work, she can be found doting on her two Mini Aussies, Blaze and Ember, enjoying home-cooked meals with her husband, or battling her way through a challenging crochet project.

We hired C Change Design for a kitchen and bath remodel on our newly bought house and they did an amazing job! They gave us three design options for the kitchen and bath, helped us choose fixtures/tile/paint colors and met with our general contractor on multiple occasions. Several of the ideas for our kitchen I would not have thought of on my own, and they have become my favorite features. The team at C Change Design are very budget conscious and will work with you to make your space the best it can be. We will definitely be contacting them for our basement remodel!

Emma Winn

Design Assistant

Emma’s intuitive love for design began as a child drawing floor plans for her dolls and determining efficient space planning solutions for their many needs. It wasn’t until after college, however, that she realized that interior design could be an actual career path. Determined to learn as much as possible before jumping into the industry, Emma enrolled in Portland Community College’s Interior Design program. She graduated in 2022 with her Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design, as well as certificates in kitchen and bath planning and accessibility within residential design.

After spending a year and a half working for a tile & slab showroom, Emma brought her knowledge & experience to C Change Design. Emma has a personal understanding of how our surroundings affect our physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and is passionate about curating comfortable and intentional spaces for each client.

Since joining C Change Design, Emma has stepped into the role of Programming Chair for our local NKBA Columbia River Chapter, where she organizes educational events, secures speakers and sponsors, and helps create opportunities for learning and connection within the design community. She has also been recognized by the NKBA as an NKBA Thirty Under 30, which is an annual recognition program that highlights 30 young professionals under the age of 30 who are making an impact in the kitchen and bath industry.

In her spare time, Emma is likely working on her latest knitting project, dreaming of her own remodel, or enjoying cuddles from her 3 month old orange kitten, Ronald Weasley, and 10 yr old tuxedo cat, Tibby.

We have been working with C Change Design for several years now on a variety of projects. Chelly’s design/build experience is so extensive that she would easily function as the project manager as well as the designer. Having her and her team involved in our projects has elevated our company in a way that would otherwise be impossible. With all of that experience comes intelligence, sophisticated design sense, and skillful use of the latest architectural software. Chelly is a serious design professional with a fun and witty manner that I, and our clients, love and appreciate. She has the highest standards of performance and is incredibly reliable and hard working. The only reason I gave her 5 stars is because 6 was not an option.

Bear

Office Manager

As the newest member of our team, we were unsure how Bear would acclimate to the hard-working life of an office dog. But she has proven her intelligence and sweetness with her encouraging kisses and calm presence, and now we can’t imagine work without her.

Bear can usually be found snoozing under Chelly’s desk or watching squirrels in the backyard.
