Our Team
Chelly Wentworth
Principal Designer
After a successful career in high tech, Chelly made the life-altering decision to pursue her passion of design, fine art, art history, and architecture while standing on the steps of the Laurentian Library in Florence, Italy. She then earned a second degree in Interior Design (her first degree was in Clinical Psychology), and spent the next 14 years working for three of Portland’s top design-build firms as a Design Consultant and Senior Designer.
Whereas many designers go directly into the design aspect in their careers, only focusing on part of the equation, Chelly spent this time cultivating her relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers, while also delivering successful projects from concept to completion and navigating clients through the design and construction processes from start to finish.
Chelly knew she wanted to offer clients more choices and individualized options than a design-build firm can offer, so in January 2017, she decided it was time to start her own studio. Whether clients have already chosen their contractor or would like help selecting one, Chelly wanted to offer the knowledge and experience to guide them through the entire process, as an advocate for them, while over-seeing the design intent of the project.
Chelly studied fine art and art history in college and holds degrees in both Clinical Psychology and Interior Design. She is a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer (CMKBD) through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and holds a certification in Aging in Place. She also served on the Board of the NKBA’s Columbia River Chapter as VP of Professional Development for several years.
When she’s not busy combining her three passions – home renovation, cooking, and entertaining – you can find Chelly spending quality time with her family and friends, playing with her two dogs, Jake and Bear, or planning her next adventure with her husband Phil.
Ali Mastain
Designer
Ali has always had a passion for art and design. After getting her BA in Art History and her Masters from Christie’s Art, Style, and Design program in London, she found herself working as a retail buyer and planner. It was at that point that she realized that she had strayed further than she’d ever imagined from the arts, and decided to go back to school for interior design. She graduated with her Certificate from the New York School of Interior Design in 2020 and has been working in the design industry ever since.
Ali loves collaborating with clients to create beautiful, functional, and personal designs. There is nothing more satisfying to her than helping a client realize their vision and find the perfect layout, accessories, and materials for their project. Ali is committed to assisting and supporting her clients throughout the remodeling process – from the initial design meeting until the final walkthrough!
When Ali’s not at work she can likely be found doting on her two Mini Aussies, Blaze and Ember, enjoying home cooked meals with her husband, or battling her way through a challenging crochet project.
Emma Winn
Design Assistant
Emma’s intuitive love for design began as a child drawing floor plans for her dolls and determining efficient space planning solutions for their many needs. It wasn’t until after she was married, however, that she realized that interior design could be an actual career path. Determined to learn as much as possible before jumping into the industry, Emma enrolled in Portland Community College’s Interior Design program. She graduated in 2022 with her Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design, as well as certificates in kitchen and bath planning and accessibility within residential design.
After spending a year and a half working for a tile & slab showroom, Emma brought her knowledge & experience to C Change Design. Emma has a personal understanding of how our surroundings affect our physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and is passionate about curating comfortable and intentional spaces for each client.
In her spare time, Emma is likely working on her latest knitting project, spending time with her husband and 10 yr old tuxedo cat, Tibby, or fixing up her new house with her husband.
Office Pups
Jake
Warehouse Manager & Security Officer
Jake partnered with C Change Design over 4 years ago and quickly proved himself a useful - though often inefficient - team member. His innate ability for shredding the recycling is utilized almost every day, and he excels at supervising material sample deliveries and reminding us of meal times. Jake has many strengths, including playing with Bear, sleeping on the job, and asking for pets, to which we happily concede.
Bear
Office Manager
As the newest member of our team, we were unsure how Bear would acclimate to the hard-working life of an office dog. But she has proven her intelligence and sweetness with her encouraging kisses and calm presence, and now we can’t imagine work without her. Bear can usually be found snoozing under Chelly’s desk or whipping our warehouse manager into shape.
